There are so many money changers and foreign currency counters in Cebu City, that competition is very competitive, so consequently the customer will get the best deal.

We’ve hand picked the best real-time currency exchange rates and remit cash-pickup counters in Cebu City for handling and converting your currency from or into the Philippine Peso (₱PHP), at SM City Mall, SM City Seaside Mall, Ayala Center, Cebu Business Park, I.T. Park, Fuente Osmeña Circle, Mango Square, General Maxilom Avenue, SM North Bus Terminal Cebu City, South Bus Terminal Cebu City, Colon Street, Mactan Island, The Bureau of Immigration (BI) Satellite Office inside Robinsons Galleria, Cebu City, Mandaue City, Transiting North of Cebu City and Transiting South of Cebu City.

International money changers and foreign currency counters in Cebu City that specialize in just currency exchange will always offer the best rates.

International money changers and foreign currency counters in Cebu City that specialize in just currency exchange will always offer the best rates.

It’s not necessary to shop around or spend hours trying to find the best deals on foreign currency rates in Cebu City, since the majority of currency exchange counters may already be near to you, without the need to make any effort at all.

For the most reliable foreign exchange rates in Cebu City, just head straight to the BDO currency exchange counters inside SM Supermarket, SM Department store and SM business services, all located at SM City Shopping Mall, also known locally as SM Cebu at Juan Luna Avenue cor. Cabahug and Kaoshiung Streets, North Reclamation Area, Brgy. Mabolo, Cebu City.

If your hotel or condo is located near to Ayala Center-Mall & Terraces, you can take advantage of the various established money changers inside, which offer some of the best currency exchange rates.  These include Drop-By Foreign Exchange Kiosk located inside Rustans Supermarket, Core Pacific Money Exchange and GPC Money Exchange Kiosk.

We recommend you avoid converting considerable amounts of foreign currency until you arrive into Cebu City.  If your not familiar with Philippine Currency (PHP), you can take advantage of the conversation rates at money changers in Cebu City, where you can expect to get at least 6% to 12% more Philippine Currency (₱PHP), for stronger currencies including, $USD, $CAD, $AUD, $NZD, £GBP, £Sterling, €EUR, SFr Swiss Franc, Kr Norwegian Krone, Kr Danish Krone, Kr Swedish Krona, Íkr Icelandic Króna, $ HKD, RM Malaysian ringgit, $ Singapore Dollar, $ New Taiwan Dollar, ₩ South Korean Won, ¥ Japanese Yen, ¥CNY Renminbi.

If your currency is linked to the $US Dollar, in circulation or you prefer to bring $USD, you will have no problem finding the best deal in Cebu City, although most other stronger currencies are very competitive.  Occasionally at money changers in Cebu City, British Sterling may attract a varied rate or lesser compared to the British Pound.

If you immediately require Philippine Peso (₱PHP) after landing, proceed to Curex 24 hour money changer inside Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB), or AGPC money changer at Mactan Marina Mall, Ground Floor, MEZ 1, Ibo, Lapu-Lapu City, 6015, less than10 minutes by taxi from or to Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB), (not 24 hours).

There are more than five independent 24 hour money changers, when you immediately exit The Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) perimeter. One of closest 24 hour money changer near to Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) is Sitti’s via M.L. Quezon Highway, Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City, 6015 (next to AA BBQ and Shell Gas Station).

Sitti’s Money Changer Open 24 hours, Less than 10 minutes by taxi or private airport transfer from Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB)

It’s very possible to negotiate a better deal at money changers and foreign currency counters in Cebu City, when exchanging considerable amounts of money for stronger currencies including, $USD, $CAD, $AUD, $NZD, £GBP, £Sterling, €EUR, SFr Swiss Franc, Kr Norwegian Krone, Kr Danish Krone, Kr Swedish Krona, Íkr Icelandic Króna, $ HKD, RM Malaysian ringgit, $ Singapore Dollar, $ New Taiwan Dollar, ₩ South Korean Won, ¥ Japanese Yen, ¥CNY Renminbi, usually only more established money changers or foreign currency counters will offer this deal.

We recommend money changers inside Ayala Center- Mall and Terraces, or various inside exchange kiosks at Fuente Osmeña Circle, General Maxilom Ave and Colon Street, especially ALCO Credit and foreign exchange at Raintree Mall, near to Crown Regency Hotel and Fuente Osmeña Circle.  Ask the teller for both smaller and large denominations notes, because taxis, stores and bars prefer smaller notes In Cebu. If you use independent money changers in Cebu, there are isolated incidents at trying to scam tourist, so be aware, check the foreign currency conversion rate is the advertised rate on the board or teller counter, and avoid getting distracted by the teller or anyone else while the transaction is in progress, especially at 24 hour independent money changers in Cebu and always count your money.

If someone approaches you in the street in Cebu and offers to change your money into Philippine Peso at a great rate, always avoid, they will be trying to trick or scam you, and since it’s illegal to change foreign currency in any unauthorized capacity, other than an accredited bank, foreign currency counter or currency kiosk.

Avoid exchanging foreign currency at your International departing, connecting airport or Non Philippine Airport on the day, since the walk-up Exchange Rate will be poor, actually some international currency outlets at international airports or local Bureau de Change, may not initially stock Philippine PESOS (PHP), unless you pre-order the currency online at least 48 hours advance for local or airport collection, limit the amount of currency you exchange prior to arrival into Cebu to the equivalent of ₱10,000 PESOS for a single person or ₱15,000 PESOS per couple for short stays.

A person may bring into (import) or take out of (export) the Philippines, either physically or by electronic transfer, legal tender Philippine Currency not exceeding PHP ₱50,000 (fifty thousand Pesos, Philippine currency) without prior authorization from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.  A person may carry up to the amount of USD $10,000 or less (or equivalent in any other foreign currency), in cash or other monetary increments, into and out of the Philippines.  Other monetary increments include travelers’ checks, other checks, bankers drafts, notes, money orders, bonds, deposit certificates, securities, commercial papers, trust certificates, custodial receipts, deposit substitute increments, trading orders, transaction tickets and confirmation of sale / or investment.

Certain international Asian, U.A.E., and North American Airports will immediately stock Philippine PESOS (₱PHP) including, Seoul-Incheon (ICN), Seoul-Gimpo (GMP), Jeju (CJU), Hong Kong (HKG), Singapore (SIN), Guangzhou-Baiyun (CAN), Shanghai-Pudong (PVG), Tokyo-Haneda (HND), Taiwan-Taoyuan (TPE), Beijing (PEK), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Abu Dhabi (AHU), Dubai (DXB), Jeddah (JED), Kuwait (KWI), New York (JFK), Toronto (YYZ), Los Angeles (LAX), although the walk-up Exchange Rate will be poor.  If you are transiting by air from Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) to Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB), and immediately require Philippine PESO, more often you will get a better exchange rate compared to Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB), although you can of course exchange some currency at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) after baggage claim.  Surprisingly the walk-up Rates at the currency exchange counters at both Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) and Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) are still very competitive, especially for stronger currencies including, $USD, $CAD, $AUD, $NZD, £GBP, £Sterling, €EUR, SFr Swiss Franc, Kr Norwegian Krone, Kr Danish Krone, Kr Swedish Krona, Íkr Icelandic Króna, $ HKD, RM Malaysian ringgit, $ Singapore Dollar, $ New Taiwan Dollar, ₩ South Korean Won, ¥ Japanese Yen, ¥CNY Renminbi, especially if you just require a small amount of Philippine Peso currency for airport transfer or initial food and drink.  The Exchange Rate at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB), will still be more favorable than your international departing airport, and international connecting airport.

All official foreign currency counters and money changers in Cebu, Philippines are accredited by Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

If you are transiting by air via Manila-Ninoy Aquino (MNL), to Mactan-Cebu Airport (CEB), where a flight delay may occur, and especially with low cost airlines from or to Manila-Ninoy Aquino (MNL), and other Philippine Airports.  Certain low cost airlines are particularly known for daily flight delays exceeding 1 hour or more and last minute cancellations, certain low cost airlines on time performance are very below average.  Although occasionally airlines in the Philippines may need reschedule or cancel a flight because of adverse weather conditions or operational reasons, it’s also worth mentioning low cost airlines in the Philippines are reliant so much on a smooth timetable, because the turnaround time is so slim or where an inbound flight is late, resulting in a flight delay for the outbound flight.

Certain tourist flying into Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB), who are planning to remain inside the airport after baggage claim for example for flights arriving between 12:00 am to 4:00 am, before continuing your journey to Cebu Sea Port to catch a early morning ferry, or reach Cebu North Bus Terminal or Cebu South Bus Terminal for early morning bus departures to your destination, may do so and there are seating areas food and drink outlets and free high speed WIFI.

The Mactan-Cebu International Airport is modern and fully air conditioned, If you exit the Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) Airport Terminal, you may not be permitted to enter back into the Terminal, because only ticketed passengers or arriving passengers can enter or stay inside.

The majority of established 24 hour international money changers are located around Fuente Osmeña Circle, near to Mango Square, and on General Maxilom Avenue, only a few are located in Mactan Town Center.

There are at least two 24 hour money changers in the popular tourist hotel area and Business Park district of Cebu City, Kayle Money Changer (next to Calda Pizza – Escario Branch) and one other money changer both located on N Escario St, immediately near and within walking distances from Ayala Center-Mall and Terraces, Seda Hotel Ayala Center, Avalon Condominium at Luzon Avenue, Mandarin Plaza Hotel, Quest Hotel, Cebu Parklane Hotel, Golden Prince Hotel and Suites, Harolds Hotel, Hotel Elizabeth, Azia Suites and Residences, Wellcome Hotel, and The Golden Peak Hotel & Suites.

24 hour money changers near to Fuente Osmeña Circle, Mango Square, General Maxilom Avenue and Ayala Center-Mall and Terraces offer good international currency exchange rates for the $USD, $CAD, $AUD, $NZD, £GBP, £Sterling, €EUR, SFr Swiss Franc, Kr Norwegian Krone, Kr Danish Krone, Kr Swedish Krona, Íkr Icelandic Króna, $ HKD, RM Malaysian ringgit, $ Singapore Dollar, $ New Taiwan Dollar, ₩ South Korean Won, ¥ Japanese Yen, ¥CNY Renminbi, although other 24 hour money changers in this area offer great rates in all other international currencies.

If you are located in Cebu City, Lapu-Lapu City, Mactan island, and Mandaue City, and there is a concentration of hotels, there will be Independent 24 hour money changers and more established money changers available.  Non 24 hour money changers usually open from 10:00AM to 9:00PM, both options will be immediately near by.  If you are transiting or based a considerable distance away from Cebu City, in a remote area, rural area, island and beach resort, typically money changer options are local banks or the nearest pawn store, the exchange rates will be lesser than in Cebu City, because competition is not so competitive, although you can still get a surprisingly fair deal.  However in Cebu City pawn store money changers may only exchange the $ US Dollar

Some independently operated 24 hour money changers in Cebu may not immediately display exchange rates on a board or LED screen outside, just inquire with the teller, certain tourists may feel intimidated not knowing the initial Currency Rate, if it’s not for you, just head to the Money Changers inside Ayala Center-Mall and Terraces, Cebu City or SM City and SM Seaside Malls Cebu City, where all money changers display exchange rates on LED screens.

Using your Debit, Credit and Currency Card in Cebu, Philippines

You can use your debit, credit and currency card in Cebu to make purchases and to withdraw local currency from ATM machines, just as you would at home (look for the Visa or Mastercard logo) but you’ll generally be charged a cross boarder fee, depending on the card issuer this can vary from 2.0% to 3.75%, excluding the local ATM fee of around ₱250 to ₱300 Peso per transaction.

Avoid using a credit or debit card to make lots of small payments, and for daily ATM transactions, especially credit card cash withdrawals, because the charges can quickly escalate unless you have one of the fee free cards or travel currency card, although fee free cards does not guarantee you’ll avoid the ATM fee of around ₱250 to ₱300 Peso per transaction.

Avoid using your credit or debit card regularly in Cebu, Philippines, unless you are aware of the associated transaction or ATM fee at ₱250 to ₱300.   Local banks and ATM’s in he Philippines charge a fee each time you use it abroad, pay with cash where possible or sign up for a prepaid currency card or fee free debit or credit card ahead of time instead.  Always choose to pay by credit or debit card in the local currency where you are or in this case Philippine Peso ₱PHP if you’re given the option to, this will lessen the associated transaction fee.

Official Government issued photo ID will be required if you plan to exchange money from you’re debit or credit card or transactions for cash purchase.

Can you buy poland money i have 200 PLN HOW MUCH?

    • admin

Thank you for your question! Unfortunately, we do not buy foreign currencies directly. However, you can check the current exchange rate for PLN (Polish Zloty) to PHP (Philippine Peso) by visiting the exchanger. Keep in mind that exchange rates may vary depending on the money exchange service you choose.

For reference, at today’s rate, 200 PLN is approximately about 2920 PHP. We recommend contacting local money changers or remittance centers for the best rates and services.

      Safe travels!
